With all the hustle and bustle of the last holiday shopping weekend and all the parties to be attended, it's easy to forget that rescue never takes a day off.

This time it was a plea for help on Facebook. An owner, through a series of events, tried to save a mini from a cruel dealer only to be in over her head - medically and finacially.

She called 4 rescues with no luck.

She asked for help through socal media and several people tagged SHEW.

Early Saturday morning she arrived. One look at her hooves told us this will be a long haul and we'll need a miracle. The neglect and suffering has been going on a long time to get in this shape.

Now named Sugarplum, at just 14 yrs old, this little sweetheart deserves the best chance we can give her. She'll need xrays, bloodwork, specialized farrier work, pain medication, and a long rehab.
